You know how you’ve been cleaning your ceiling fan blades with a pillowcase and you thought that was just as handy as it gets? Well, this little trick is even better! And all you need is a sock…
I decided to give this little trick a try and grabbed a spare sock. I had been neglecting my ceiling fans and the dust build-up was atrocious.
I started by taking off the light cover so that I could give it a good wash and really get in and around the bulbs for cleaning.
Next, I sprayed my sock with dusting spray, like she shows in the video. Andrea Jean makes her own dusting spray, but I grabbed my generic one from my cleaning supply closet.
I gave the sock a good dousing in spray so that any dust would stick right on and not slide off onto my bed (which sits below this fan).
Next, I wrapped my sock around the fan blade and started to slide it down. You could do this with just your hand holding the sock, but in the video, she shows how to secure it with clothespins, so I decided to give that a go.
