Spooky Halloween Poison Apples
Ingredients:
6 medium apples (Granny Smith or any firm variety works well)
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup light corn syrup
3/4 cup water
1/2 teaspoon red food coloring (more if you want a more intense color)
1/2 teaspoon green food coloring (optional, for added effect)
1/2 teaspoon black food coloring (optional, for added effect)
1/2 teaspoon flavor extract (like cinnamon or vanilla, optional)
Wooden sticks or lollipop sticks
Nonstick cooking spray or parchment paper
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Apples:
Wash and thoroughly dry the apples. Remove any wax coating by wiping them with a vinegar-soaked paper towel.
Insert a wooden stick into the top of each apple, pushing it in about halfway.
