My mother-in-law’s clever trick: dishwasher tablets for the home
The dishwasher tablets are actually intended for the dishwasher, but my mother-in-law has discovered a clever trick that can be used for other purposes in the home. Even though she doesn’t have a dishwasher herself, she swears by the versatility of these tablets. When I discovered her trick, I was skeptical at first, but after trying it out myself, I’m absolutely convinced. Here I’m happy to share the ingenious application that not only saves time, but also money.
Cleaning drains and pipes: One of the most surprising applications is the use of dishwasher tablets to clean drains and pipes. My mother-in-law simply dissolves a tablet in hot water and then pours the solution into the affected drains. After a short exposure time, she rinses with hot water and the pipes are free of deposits and blockages.
Removing stubborn stains: Dishwasher tablets can work wonders even on stubborn stains on clothing or carpets. My mother-in-law simply crushes a tablet and dissolves it in hot water. She then carefully dabs the resulting solution onto the stain and lets it work for a few minutes before rinsing with clean water. The stains disappear as if by magic.
