Pulled Pork Tacos

Pulled Pork Tacos
Ingredients:
For the Pulled Pork:

3-4 pounds pork shoulder (also known as pork butt)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Tacos:

Corn or flour tortillas
Fresh cilantro, chopped
Lime wedges
Sliced avocado (optional)
Shredded lettuce or cabbage (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the Pork:

Season the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, ground cumin, chili powder, dried oregano, and cayenne pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear the pork on all sides until browned (about 4-5 minutes per side). This step is optional but adds great flavor.
Cook the Pork:

Transfer the pork to a slow cooker or a large pot. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic.
Pour in the barbecue sauce and chicken or vegetable broth.
If using a slow cooker, cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shreds.
If using a pot on the stove, cover and cook on low heat for about 3-4 hours, or until the pork is tender.
Shred the Pork:

Once the pork is tender, remove it from the slow cooker or pot. Use two forks to shred the meat. Return the shredded pork to the cooking liquid and stir to combine.
Warm the Tortillas:

Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat or in the oven wrapped in foil.
Assemble the Tacos:

Spoon the pulled pork onto the warm tortillas. Top with fresh cilantro, a squeeze of lime juice, and any additional toppings like avocado or shredded lettuce.
