Apple Dapple Cake with Caramel Sauce

Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, salt, and nutmeg.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
6. Fold in the diced apples and toasted nuts.
7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
9. While the cake is baking, make the caramel sauce: In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the brown sugar, butter, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Let it boil for 2-3 minutes, then remove from heat.
10. Allow the cake to cool slightly before drizzling the warm caramel sauce over the top. Serve and enjoy!
