Shape Rolls: Divide dough into 12 pieces, roll into balls, and place on a parchment-lined sheet. Cover with a damp towel and let rise as directed.
Make Topping: Combine yeast, sugar, oil, salt, and rice flour. Mix black food coloring with warm water and add to flour mixture until very black and slightly fluid.
Apply Topping: Smear the black topping on risen dough balls, ensuring a thick layer for cracking effect.
Bake: Let topping sit for 15 minutes, then bake as per bread mix instructions.
Serve: Once baked, slice and serve with garlic butter.
