Bubble Tea (Boba Tea)

In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of water.
Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Let the syrup cool slightly and then add the cooked tapioca pearls.
Allow the pearls to sit in the syrup for at least 10 minutes to absorb the sweetness.
Assemble the Bubble Tea:
In a tall glass, add 2-3 tablespoons of the sweetened tapioca pearls.
Add ice cubes to the glass.
Pour in the chilled tea.
Add 1/2 cup of milk or dairy-free alternative.
If desired, add 1-2 tablespoons of your favorite flavoring syrup.
Stir well to combine.
Serve:
Serve immediately with a wide straw for sipping the tapioca pearls.
