Creamy Macaroni & Cheese

Melt Butter: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add Flour: Stir in the flour and cook, stirring constantly, for about 1-2 minutes to form a roux. This helps thicken the sauce.
Add Milk: Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps. Continue to cook and whisk until the mixture begins to thicken and comes to a gentle simmer.
Add Cheese: Reduce the heat to low and gradually add the shredded cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is completely melted and the sauce is smooth.
Season: Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, Dijon mustard, and paprika if using. Adjust to taste.
Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce, stirring until the pasta is evenly coated.

Optional – Bake for a Crispy Top:

Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare Topping: If you like a crispy topping, mix the bread crumbs with a little melted butter and sprinkle over the macaroni and cheese.
Bake: Transfer the macaroni and cheese to a baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
Serve: Let the macaroni and cheese cool slightly before serving. It’s perfect as a standalone dish or as a side.

Enjoy your creamy macaroni and cheese! It’s sure to bring a smile to your face and warmth to your soul.
