Creamy potato casserole with ham, tastes excellent!

Preparation: For the creamy potato casserole with ham, first preheat the oven to 200 degrees and grease a baking dish with butter. Peel the potatoes and cut into narrow slices. Peel the onion and cut into rings. Cut the ham into bite-sized pieces. Spread half of the potatoes on the bottom of the dish. Layer the onion rings and ham on top. Cover with the remaining potatoes. Melt the butter in a saucepan, stir in the flour and salt with a whisk, then continue stirring continuously for a minute. Pour in the milk and bring to the boil, stirring constantly. Turn off the heat, stir in the grated cheese and let it melt. Remove the pot from the heat. Distribute the contents of the pot over the casserole, cover the dish with aluminum foil and let it bake for around 90 minutes.
