Danish Custard and Almond Pastries

Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F).
Roll out the puff pastry and cut into 4-inch squares.
Place a tablespoon of almond paste in the center of each square.
Add a generous tablespoon of custard on top of the almond paste.
Fold the corners of the pastry towards the center, slightly overlapping the filling.
Brush the pastries with the beaten egg to give them a golden finish.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until golden and puffed.
Remove from oven and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
