Dark Chocolate Halloween Cookies

Begin by setting your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a bowl, combine 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/4 tsp salt. Put it aside for later.
In another bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of softened butter, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar until it becomes creamy.
Add in the egg and 1 tsp of vanilla extract to the butter mixture and blend until everything is well mixed.
Slowly incorporate the dry mixture into the wet ingredients. Stir in 1 cup of dark chocolate chips.
Place rounded tablespoons of the dough onto the baking tray, ensuring they are spaced about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookie edges are firm. Let them rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
After cooling, adorn the cookies with candy eyes and, if preferred, drizzle with melted white chocolate
