Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If you have bahulu moulds, grease them well. If not, you can use mini muffin tins or other small moulds.
Beat Eggs and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the eggs and sugar together using an electric mixer on high speed until the mixture becomes thick, pale, and fluffy. This should take about 5-7 minutes.
Add Vanilla: Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
Sift Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour and baking powder.
Fold in Flour: Gradually fold the sifted flour mixture into the egg mixture using a spatula. Be gentle to maintain the airiness of the batter.
Add Oil: Slowly fold in the vegetable oil or melted butter until well combined. The batter should be smooth and slightly thick.
Fill the Moulds: Spoon the batter into the prepared moulds, filling each one about three-quarters full.
Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the bahulu are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and Serve: Allow the bahulu to cool in the moulds for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
