Ingredients:

For the Cookies:

1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 tablespoons orange zest (about 1 large orange)
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the Orange Cream Filling:

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons orange juice
1 teaspoon orange zest
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Prepare the Cookies:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and orange zest until well combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.
Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass or your fingers.
