Pecan Bars
Ingredients:
For the Crust:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
For the Filling:
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups pecan halves
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
Prepare the Crust:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, and salt.
Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust.
Bake the Crust:
Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.
