After 15 minutes, cut a lemon in half and rub it over the stained areas. Let it dry completely. It only takes about 30 minutes.
As you can see, a second or third round of the peroxide would probably have removed it completely. We are putting a new area rug down, so until we restore the entire floor someday, this will do.
I wiped the area with wood soap.
Re-oiled and drying. The spots are nearly gone. One more round of the peroxide would have done it! Too bad I’m busy and impatient!
