Pumpkin Pie Syrup

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
2. Reduce the heat to low and whisk in the pumpkin puree and pumpkin pie spice. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Allow the syrup to cool before transferring it to a jar or bottle for storage.
5. Store in the refrigerator and use within two weeks.
