Restaurant-Style Chow Mein

In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, sugar, black pepper, and minced garlic to create the sauce mixture.
Add the cornstarch slurry to the sauce mixture and stir until well combined. This will help thicken the sauce during cooking.
Heat the sauce in a small saucepan over medium heat until it thickens slightly, about 2-3 minutes, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
Use immediately in your favorite chow mein dish or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
