Air Fryer or Oven-Baked Pie Bites
Ingredients:
1 package (14.1 ounces) refrigerated pie crusts (2 crusts per package) or homemade pie dough
1/2 cup fruit preserves or pie filling (such as apple, cherry, blueberry, or your favorite flavor)
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Granulated sugar (for sprinkling)
Optional: a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Pie Crust:

Roll out the pie crusts on a lightly floured surface. If using homemade dough, roll it out to about 1/8-inch thickness.
Use a round cutter (about 2 inches in diameter) or the rim of a glass to cut out circles from the dough.
2. Assemble the Pie Bites:

Air Fryer Method:

Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
Place half of the dough circles on a clean surface.
Spoon a small amount of fruit preserves or pie filling (about 1 teaspoon) onto the center of each dough circle.
Place another dough circle on top to form a mini pie. Use a fork to press the edges together to seal, creating a crimped edge.
Brush the tops with the beaten egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar (and a dash of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired).
Place the pie bites in the air fryer basket, working in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding.
Air fry for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
