Best Popcorn Balls
Ingredients:
12 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional add-ins: mini marshmallows, chocolate chips, candy pieces, nuts, or sprinkles
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Popcorn:

Pop the popcorn using your preferred method (air popper, stovetop, or microwave).
Remove any unpopped kernels and place the popcorn in a large bowl.
2. Make the Syrup Mixture:

In a medium saucepan, combine the light corn syrup, granulated sugar, butter, and salt.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
Continue to cook without stirring until the mixture reaches 250°F (120°C) on a candy thermometer (soft ball stage).
3. Add Vanilla:

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Combine with Popcorn:

Pour the hot syrup mixture over the popped popcorn.
Stir quickly to coat the popcorn evenly. Be cautious as the syrup will be very hot.
5. Form the Popcorn Balls:
