Bubble Tea (Boba Tea)

Ingredients:
Tea:
2-3 tea bags or 2-3 teaspoons of loose leaf black or green tea
Tapioca Pearls (Boba):
1/2 cup
Water:
For boiling tea and cooking tapioca pearls
Sugar Syrup:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup water
Milk or Dairy-Free Alternative:
1/2 cup (e.g., whole milk, almond milk, coconut milk, rice milk)
Flavoring Syrup (optional):
Banana, coconut, watermelon, vanilla, etc.
Ice Cubes:
1 cup
Instructions:
Brew the Tea:
Boil 2 cups of water.
Add the tea bags or loose leaf tea and let steep for 5-10 minutes.
Remove the tea bags or strain the loose leaf tea.
Let the tea cool and then refrigerate until chilled.
Cook the Tapioca Pearls:
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large pot.
Add the tapioca pearls and stir gently to prevent sticking.
Boil for 15-20 minutes until the pearls are soft and chewy.
Remove from heat, cover, and let sit for an additional 15 minutes.
Drain and rinse the pearls with cold water.
Prepare the Sugar Syrup:
