Classic Baked Apples
Ingredients:
6 large apples (such as Honeycrisp, Granny Smith, or Braeburn)
1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or almonds)
1/4 cup raisins or dried cranberries
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
1/4 cup maple syrup or honey
1 cup water
Vanilla ice cream (for serving)
Caramel sauce (for drizzling)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Prepare Apples:

Core Apples: Using an apple corer or a knife, remove the core from each apple, making sure to leave the bottom intact to hold the filling.
Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the brown sugar, chopped nuts, raisins or dried cranberries, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
Stuff Apples:

Fill Apples: Spoon the filling mixture into the center of each apple. Press it down gently to pack it in.
Top with Butter: Place a small piece of butter on top of the filling in each apple.
