Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 cups old-fashioned oats
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional, such as walnuts or pecans)
Instructions:
Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Prepare Dough:

Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.
Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Mix Dry and Wet Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Add Oats and Chocolate Chips: Stir in the oats and chocolate chips (and nuts if using) until evenly distributed.
